Ok so Im pulling into the track on Fri. And theres a bone stock looking Evo. Im thinkin to myself "I liked to run with this guy thinking it should be close. Well yeah anyways, i got my wish, this guy pulls off a 10.3 at 143mph. I take back every negative thing Ive ever said about Evo's, this guy had full interior and drove the car to and from the track. I talked to him later, he said he and his family own Buschur Racing, his best is a 10.19, that is Damn impresive for a 4 banger. Said he had AEM EMS, Stage 3 Head / ported / Stage three Block, a t67-p Turbo and bunch of other stuff done. Ive looked all this stuff up and its a pretty penny! Anyway just thought Id share

Lol. Look at all the mods/$ spent on the engine to make it go 10's.. Still impressive for a 4banger.. But I'll stick to a better budget with my Mustang.

And the same could be said by a guy running faster times than you with less money in ANY car. I say it to HCI cars all the time, why spend so much to go just as fast or slower?

Because everyone is different. Money well spent as 140+ mph and 10s is a fast fun car!

A daily driven 10.3 would be worth far more to me than a car that goes 8s and takes a trailer home. It's probably an excellent all-around car, and if you have the money, why not?

im pretty sure that it wasnt the AMS evo. it has some huge GT-something turbo on it now...35? maybe 45..not sure. i can't remember. it also has a 2.3 (or 2.4?) liter stroker. i believe its black, and the guy lives in pensacola or something like that. thats a whole lot of "maybes."

It has a GT45R or something stupid like that at 35+ psi (almost 1000AWHP), and it runs low 9s at 160+ MPH, so it's not the same car. The AMS EVO is a daily driver, too I think.. Of note, Bushur Racing has gone 8.95 with an EVO. Some NZers have gone even faster.

What is so funny to listen to, is how all the import guys think that it is easy to make a car that quick. "Just big exaust, intake, and a huge turbo with lots of boost". If they only knew that every inch of that drivetrain from the timing cover to the cv axels has been "massaged". You can get a mustang in the 9's a lot easier and cheaper than a EVO into the 10's or even 11's.

I will say EVO's are badass. Yeah, they look like chineese takout boxes on steroids, but then again, most people think foxes are but ugly too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

How do you know he has $50k into that car? You're all making the assumption that imports are expensive to make fast...again. I'd bet that he has $20k in performance mods, tops. It's hard to rack up $50k no matter what you drive.

It was a guess on my part, those cars go for around 30 grand or so and I figured he had about 20 grand in aftermarket stuff, so that adds up to around 50 grand!

AMS evo is in florida not OH. Theres a bunch of fast running evos out there, and like said fast cars come in all shapes and sizes. Impressive for a 4cyl but not rare. I think its funny becuase alot of us guys dont see the point in making those cars fast, but its these threads that give them their satisfaction. Its like when I pull up to a light with any car, theyll NEVER race because they just dont mess with me, they know how easy it is to make my car fast and chances are its fast. Now with my buddys civic and his ls/vtec swap, I was driving it today, pulled up to a light with some homo in his crossfire, kid thought he was cool rolling up and down, light turned green went around the turn, he got the jump, but when i floored it in second I easily pulled a few cars on him in a civic! now people think its fun to race civics because they think their fast and they want to s how them up and own them, but when the civic beats that person, thats where the serious takes place.

If you read the Original Post the Guys Family owns a Car Business, the reason the Ricer car is at the Track is to promote Business for themselves to attract people to them so they have to have a good showing, they may have more than 50 Grand into it as it is advertisement for them.
