Hi, I wanted a set of nice floor mats for my fox. I usually just stop at Auto Zone and pick up a set of cheap mats twice a year they fit nice and don't move around. But i wanted a set with the logo on them until I priced them.
$60 to $100 bucks for something to wipe your feet on?
You got to be chitin me. So,,, I ordered a few mustang logo patches from
eBay and picked up a set of Valuecrap mats at the Zone. the mats were on sale $12 the patches were like $2 each
I put a layer of Black silicone adhesive on the back of the patches and two
short pieces of 2x4 on each side and C clamped it down and left it overnight.
I didn't get what I had expected at all. when I clamped it down I guess
the fibers of the carpet were compressed with the silicone and dried in
the compressed state. The logos look like they are counter sunk into the
mats. They look like they are stitched right on the mat!
I discovered how to counter sink them on accident.
but boy do they look nice. $16 mats

No it's straight. I don't know why it looks that way in the picture, It's straight I measured it a few times before I clamped it. Might be the curve of the mat.
It dose look crooked in the picture tho,,

I applaud you sir! That looks really good, I'm going to have to do something similar. I'm curious why you used gasket maker as an adhesive, though...? Were the patches not iron-on?

yes they were iron on. I was afraid that the cheap carpet on the mats would melt from the heat.
