Hey,
I just wanted to share a bit of good news, good to back.....:SNSign: . Anyhow, I have been doing a bit of work to my ride and I have decided to go all out on the chassis stiffening, since my foxbody feels like billet......cheese . Anyhow, I have MM subframe connectors, MM G-Load brace, MM Strut tower brace and Snow Performance rear shock tower brace, so my car feels pretty solid. However, recently I came up with a wicked idea, after looking at a picture of Cobra R undercarriage in Kirchenbaum's Mustang Bible. Anyhow, since convertible stangs have that cool X-brace that ties the K-member to front rad support and in the back to the chassis rails, I though what the heck why not add one to mine . Well, got my brace from junkyard, and guess what, it is more like two V braces tied by bolts at the K-Member. So I made my own brackets, to tie the front V-brace to rad support and wow, much better steering response and road feel...you have gotta do this! Anyhow, I was all chipper and gung ho from this little development, so I wanted to attach the rear V-brace as well, but guess what? My G-load brace interfered with the mounting..... . So, in the best DYI tradition, I hacksawed the brace and connected the front K-member to the subframe rails, running it underneath control arm mounting pads. Guess what? Dayum, now this is the cat's meow....The car finally feels like a solid billet of metal, kind of like a 90's modern car instead of a 70s economy chassis. This $50 mod is probably the best mod since the subframe connectors....I will try to get pics sometime if I can get them

That sounds awesome... some pics and maybe a writeup on how exactly you did it would be sweet

I've been wanting to try some fabrication projects and chassis stiffening pieces seem like the ideal thing to do...

Are you talking about those rickety lame tubes that cross the K-member? I am surprised to hear your comments - those dont do much for us vert folks (some have removed them altogether with no perceived difference).

I am glad it helped you - perhaps since you have so much stiffening already, they were able to actually do something. Cool!
