I'm looking for pics of aftermarket hoods. I was going to go with the SVO style that Cervinis offers, but $600 is a big chunk of $$$. Any and all ideas are welcome. Plese post as much info as you can in regards to the hood i.e. cost/vendor/fitment/

its done like that for a reason... helps keep air from getting under the car.

and the van o style is easier to see over... a big full length cowl is very hard to see over. hell i had issues seeing over the cowl in the race car before we cut it back and it was a 5.5".

My son just picked up a 4" cowl for his SN95.
http://www.abcexclusive.com/hoods_main.htm#rr80040

Good:
It was far better quality than I expected for the price.
It came perfectly gel coated and finished underside.
The bolt on hood he got was double layered and seems very sturdy.
The cowl area is framed in and screened. It is a bit overengineered, in this area IMO.

Bad:
One side of the hood is a bit higher compared to the fender than the other. It's only a couple of mm, but I can see it.
(We bolted it right on and went. It might be the fender adjustment, the hood may need sanded down underneath as it is thick.)
The 'bolt on' provision for the hood is J-nuts. The last hood I had used threaded inserts embedded right into the fiber.
Maybe it's just me, and I was spoiled, but it just seems chincey. That said, the hood lined up and is securely bolted down.
I just think inserts are a nice touch.

Bottom line, I would buy from them again.

He painted it rattle can black until he gets parts painted to match...

thats what i told bob till i drove it around a little. you get a very small window in the corner to look out of. im 6'2 and with a helmet my head would be on the bottom of the bars. hell my helmet hits the roof of my car now. and its STILL hard to see around a hood that bad. i wouldnt want to do 170+ looking out that small of a hole.
