I can't believe there is a thread on a hood latch. I thought homemade CAI's were something.

Links to pics.

If you look carefully in the 2nd picture, you can see the black outline of the shims under the latch bracket.

tried shimming the hood latch and it did not work.

the latch's bracket has two more bolts on the front, the hole that the bolts go through is at its highest it can go and does not allow the bracket to lift up unless I disassemble them and cut the holes lower to allow the whole bracket to rise.
I also loosened the bottom bolt for the bracket down below the radiator to lift but was not successful.

I didn't have the cutting or burring tools to make the holes longer so that pissed me off.

i thought those F*****s are made the same at the assembly line. arrrrrrgh!

gotta buy tools nows...*****

sorry, just needed to vent

Thanks for the infos everyone, will try it again next time.

Something else to try, those little rubber knobs at the corners by the headlights, screw them in to lower them. Those are what stops the hood from slamming down onto the hood latch and breakin crap.. I turned my in a little bit and my hood closes a lot easier. Make sure you dont take them down so far that the hood can wiggle though.
