let me elaborate, I noticed looking at some II pics online that the nose is different on a 74 and a 78, I have a 78 and the area with the Ford letters is much more narrow on the 78 from the 74, which leads me to think that the 74 hood may be shorter then the 78, my car had been in a front end collision, I don't think it was too serious but it was poorly repaired, I have been re fixing the original repair job as I get to those things that were overlooked as no one would see them, thats not good enough for me I'm fixing those things right, however no matter how I adjust the hood there seems to be too much gap between the front and back of the hood to the nosepiece and the cowl, after seeing the difference between the 74 and 78 nose it leads me to think that they may have put a 74 hood on it after the accident, does anyone know if they are different?

I mistakenly thought the 74 hoods were the same as the later years, but bought one once and found out otherwise. They are a bit shorter and a little more square in the front than 75-78s iirc...
