Hood struts?

I know someone here is using gas struts in place of the hood springs and I would appreciate some info on this. I cant use the springs on the hinges and dont want to use a prop rod.

These guys did, http://www.ringbrothers.com/ really nice. I wish I could justify the cost of a set of those.

Those look sweet... but WOW! $650.00 for the pair... that is some serious bling...

Yea those are great but I am thinking of just the cheap hyd struts that are on many new cars. I saw a picture of a car here that had them...

It answers the "if I were a millionare, what would I buy" question.

I called and talked to Jim Ring a year ago when they were only $600. Jim told me for another $100 they would come polished. Jim was a very nice guy and I didn't want to seem rude when he told me the price. I honestly couldn't think of what to say other than "thank you" and I hung up the phone.

They do look really nice and if I had an extra $650 with nothing to do......
