Hood ?

I live in New Jersey and i am curious if it is legal to drive without a hood. My hood flew off the other day and dented my cowl panel. Now i cant get a hood on there so until i get it fixed can i drive with out it. If it is legal will it hurt the car? Its a 90 vert.

see cars in cali with no hood all the time... shouldn't be a problem

plus cops are understanding, despite their reputation, worst u can get is a 10 dollar fixit ticket

dont expect your engine bay to stay clean, and cover it up at night... other than that, nothing should be different..


oh, and i think aerodynamics will be affected at highway speeds, so you might have more resistance

Well, a few of my buddies have driven around town w/ no hood, one right past the police station. I think it should be ok, however make sure everything is safe and secure because you won't want anything shooting in the air. I am from Lyndhurst, NJ. There should not be any reason why you can't unless there is a cop that wants to bag you. I don't think there is such a law banning you from driving hood-less, but all you need is a cop having a bad day and your done. I hope it works out for you. Later, Jeff.
