In my 89 vert 5.0 aod the gears are shifting way to fast, just driving like grandma I can be in od at 25 mph, getting on it about 40 in od, my question is can I make an adjustment at the throttlebody without damage and how?

The best thing is a shift kit. Then you can adjust when the car shifts more precisely. You can play with the TV cable but AOD is pretty sensitive to the proper TV setting pressure. If it is too low you can burn up the trans. In this case to high of a pressure is better than too low but still not the best.

The factory AOD shift settings pretty much suck. 2nd is almost non existant. gefore my shift kit it would shift into 2nd and if you weren't on the throttle it was an almost instant shift into 3rd. I put a transgo shift kit in and it works great. Some other guys have had issues with the transgo shifting into OD at WOT which is a big . There is also the Baumann recalibration kit which people seem to like as well.
