Has anyone ever used house of kolors paints? Im in the midst of buying paint I already know my color but I need ti buy everything from primer to clear coat for my painter. My problem is there's something on their website that is direct to metal primer but it doesn't say what the color is .. is it white black silver? My color is ultra orange pearl if someone has some insight on what primer to get by them id appreciate it

And the primer my painter used on my old hood as a sample was grey but he read that mixing different brands and using house of kolor paint will cause the house pf kolor paint to wrinkle

:chinHmmmm. Let's see. I think when choosing an expensive brand like HOC, The authority on what color their base/primer coats are best suited for would be HOC. That or the paint supplier.
As for mixing different brands,....although it's done all of the time, no manufacturer will warrant their product if there was a reaction or poor end result unless you can prove that all of the right products (their's) were applied in proper order.

I've never shot HOK paint, but I'm familiar with it and have several friends who've used it and there isn't anything better out there. It's very pricey, but it's a very fine and beautiful product. The one thing I can tell you about painting and buying products is to pick up the phone and ask questions, don't bother with email. You can't have enough tech support and email is too limiting.
I agree with Mike on the wrinkle/ compatablility issues.. It does happen on very rare occasion, If you do manage to get two completely different chemicals together, But paint manufacturers will throw a disclaimer out there about farting near their paint.

As far as primer colors go, most companies will offer their primers AND sealers-Always spray a sealer before shooting color!!!!- in a variety of colors to compliment your paint color. Ask for what you need, The dealer will help you!
