My doors have never locked correctly, but this is currently what I have to do to lock up the car. Shut drivers side door and lock it, get out passenger side door, shut it, then lock it with the key. I can't lock the drivers side door with the door shut because my key won't even turn in the lock, I think the lock must have been changed because it acts like it's not the right key for the lock. And neither side will lock if the doors are open. Is it supposed to be like this? The only way the doors will lock is if you are in the car with the doors shut and push the lock down or are outside the car with the doors shut and lock it with your key. I looked at the devises inside the door and it almost appears as if it were build that way, because there is a lever that the lock mechanism is rubbing against the door latch and will not move unless the latch has been pushed in (or the door is shut). Is this the way they are supposed to work?
