I have a water pump, alt, and crank and I just talked to march and they said that because I have an aluminum water pump from a 79 mustang that it is reverse rotation and I'll need the reverse rotation setup which uses the back side of the belt on the water pump. Anyway how is that possible, it doesn't look like to me that there will be enough pressure, if any to move the water pump pulley?

they are correct about the water pump, 79 and up had reverse flow pumps.i think that was the first year that ford started using the serpentine setup. i would just change water pumps myself. flow-kooler sells and a brand new aluminum pump with either driver or passenger side outlet for about 60 bucks through summit

Before ordering that water pump, you'd better make sure it fits you timing cover. The reverse and std rotation pumps use different timing covers.

To use a reverse rotation setup, you'd need at least one additional idler pulley to make it work.
