I can get the photo to come up on member profile but when I post it

Thanks

Go to User CP in the tool bar, then select "Edit Avatar" on the left side of the page. Follow the instructions to enter your URL or browse to upload.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with this stuff!

but what about a pic in the signature area?
this is one of the few forums that doesn't appear to allow it.

IMO it isnt a bad idea to disallow sig pictures. I frequent other forums where people have images as large as ~300x800. They'll post one sentence and half the page is just picture.

Also, this should be in Talk.

It could be ANY Talk forum on here, even Off-Topic. There are many and most get decent traffic.

Steve, this wasnt an attack or anything, so I hope there is no possiible offense taken. Sometimes I can come off as snide when I dont mean to. I also forget what its like being new around here. Stick around and enjoy the ride!

And you've done nothing at all by pointing that out.

The only solution is if the admins allow HTML and IMG code on our sigs. until then, everything will be the same as it is now.

Historic's method actually works decently, except maybe that last one above.

If I might offer a suggestion it would be to significantyly resize that photo downward if you intend to use it in your signature. That is a band width burner and would only add to the cost of running this site. Extra costs = more intrusive and obnoxious ads. So be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

This is your opinion, for me it is the solution. One of ther reasons I like this place is because it does not allow pics in sigs.

Sure I did....making the point that this type of response is flippant and condescending:
