my airbag is getting cracks in it due to being painted wrong the first time i guess after my accident when they replaced them with tan bags and repsrpayed them. Does anyone know how to repaint the air bags?? a certain preping and then a certain spray paint i need to use??? any help would be greatly appreciated.

first take a sledge hammer to the front bumper so that you deploy the bags. then cut them off, spray them, and sew them back in and repack them. get some firecrackers to serve as the deployment charge and you'll be set.

nothing spoils an accident like a poorly painted airbag.

I think it needs the additive that allows the paint to flex, forgot what it's called though.

your definalty going to need to sand it, and I dont see it sticking still, because all of that is flexable....its just going to crack........why are you painting it anyways???? I dont understand???

Apparently, a body shop replaced his original air bag + cover with a used one of a different color, then attempted to re-paint it to match. Now, that paint is failing, and the OP needs to paint it again. He is just asking how to do it, so that the paint doesn't fail again.

I have never done this myself, but possibly, use the type of flexible primer used on the bumpers.

When I replaced my airbags I had a paint company near by make me a can of spray paint that would specifically allow for the flex needed in the airbag cover and would perfectly match the rest of the interior. I can get you some pictures of it if you would like.

Hey retard...if you want the answer to a question, you have to ask it first. You asked how to repaint your airbag, not the cover. So...naturally, you got some stupid comments to your stupid question.

All I can say about this is HAHA

Oh yeah, sand, wipe with alcohol, paint. But as stated, flexing will kill it.
