get the msd box along w/ the wiring harness (an extra $15) and it plugs right up. if you want to do it the hard way, dont get the harness and splice wires together according to the instructions.

it is very easy with the harness and for 15 bucks i would rather pay than have to screw with splicing wires all day

yes, get the harness! it will save you time and a headache. on thing that you MIGHT need (as I did) is a tach adapter. mine didnt work after the install, so i had to add the adapter to make the factory one work.

Thats wierd, never heard of that problem. What box are you running?

Thenemesis, buy the harness makes things a lot easier as already explained. I am cheap and spliced everything together.

I mounted mine on the frame rail under the battery and used the MSD harness. I was nice and close to a power source, many places to choose a grounding point and close to the coil to mount the harness.

You don't need the harness, the kit comes with everything you need. You DON'T need to splice any wires, you just unplug the connector from the coil, plug two blade connectors into that, and two more onto the coil itself. NO SPLICING, just slip-on connections.
