So are there any advantages to the Romeo engine? Windsor sounds much better. I know nascar uses the 351 windsor.

it really doesn't affect the sound. all the name really means is the different plants they were produced in. there were very subtile differences, but nothing to really affect the exhaust note. also when they made the switch on the plants, there was some speculation that the windsor motors were a bit better & ran a little stronger. but that thought has since been dismissed, due to track times & dyno runs

I use the Alldata website for the TSB/recalls/repairs etc...It's well worth $14.95 to get the stuff the dealer won't just tell you about.

As for the ticking, my 99 sings like a sewing machine (as my Mopar loving hubby says).

For my car it's a multiple part problem, valves, valve springs and lack of oil getting up to the top side. My car has high mileage and is beyond warranty. Alldata recommends replacing valve springs. I figure that I will wait until I have to rebuild the top end of the motor before I go to the trouble of fixing it. No sense in just doing valve springs now. Might as well wait and do the cam, port the heads, replace the intake, push rods, valves and valve springs all at once. Who knows, maybe I will get that supercharger too????

awwyea- You will not regret getting a s/c. I just finished installing one on my '99 GT & the difference is night and day.

If it does it all the time, then there is a problem. If it only does it on cold starts for a few min, I wouldn't consider that abnormal. It's just that the oil hasn't gotten circulating yet through everything, rod bearings etc.

Is it a ticking or a quick burst of air sounding like a tick. Cus ticking could just be valve tick. Most cars have it.....yes it sux but.....what can ya do. Mustangs do have that wispwisp ticking sound. However after getting my new exhaust put on, I don't hear it. I do hear the valve tick. Not loud but ticks

So...What does that list of stuff mean? I ran it on my 98 and there's a huge list of TSBs. If i have any of those problems, does that mean i can take it to the dealer and have it fixed for free??
