yea i have experience with both, i was just wondering how it compared....J/W Anybody know? Cause the MSD is on the Camaro and i have Hi-6 on my Mustang
crane > msd in my opinion. The crane is fully digital where as the msd is analog. I've heard some shotty things about msd products for stangs. Especially they're distributors. But there are a lot of people that haven't had issues.
Well i mean, we just got a MSD 6AL box off of ebay for $150 and stuck on the Camaro, had no problems or anything out of it, its fine and we got the billet dizzy and had no problems from that either. But thats on a 396 chevy engine, so....i dont really know if the quality is any different for the Ford dizzy's VS. Chevys....I was just wondering if one put out more spark than the other.
You can’t really compare those two ignition boxes. As stated, the MSD box is an analog box and the hi-6 is a digital box. A better comparison would be MSD digital 6 vs. the hi-6. From the two boxes you mentioned, I would still use the 6AL, because it can grow with your needs.
I myself am done with MSD. I have two Digital 6s that need to go in for repair for the 3rd time in 2 years. One was backup for the other and now both have went out and forgot to send in the repair before the backup went bad. They charge $89 to repair a Digital Plus 6. I have seen others complain about MSD ignition box of late. I think I will save money and try the Crane units. Now MSD purchased RacePak Systems so I am glad I have one all ready because I would not purchase one in a couple of months after MSD starts making changes and ruins the product.
