How efficient are TCI streetfighter torque converters?

Hi folks.

In light of recent gas prices, I've taken to downjetting and pumping up the tires, using acetone and giving the old gal a good tune up.

Even with 56/58 jetting and a 5.0 powervalve, the gas milage is terrible, low teens, a bit too low considering I'm only NA and the package is still relatively mild.

There was some talk a while ago about aftermarket converter efficiency being all over the board. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how efficient the tci streetfighter is compared to stock and high end converters? Maybe this is the culprit.

Thanks for reading

Pete

As far as being efficient the TCI works for me .
I also have the TCI street fighter tranny and together they make a good combo...

I'm not to sure what ur looking for but i have a 3500 stall and she's a daily driver i get like 22 miles to the gallon..but if i get on her she last me about four days

Hey thanks for the reply!

It told me roughly what I wanted to know: the TCI is relatively efficient. I need to look elsewhere to find my milage woes. Maybe it IS the cam.

As far as existing equiptment goes, I have the 3K stall variety tci streetfighter already running in front of a built up AOD. Performance is excellent.

On the other hand....

You get 22 commuting with a tci tranny??? Isnt that a 3 speed? Whoa! Nice driving! :nice:

No is your regular AOD not a c4

i have had the tranny for three years, but it has less that 10,000 miles on it

most of its life it was parked in the garage
see when i purchased the tci tranny it was cheap if you try to get the same tranny now it's some where around 1500.-1700. depending on where you purchase it.

Good luck with the gas....
