how far to take timing with predator?

do most people max out their timing with the predator programmer? and i know about the article but that is just one case.

I had mine max'ed out to +10%. No pinging.

Max Timing in upper rpms on mine is 20 to 23 degrees. I run 93 and have had no problems or pinging. However mine was custom set by James over at RWTD in Mobile, AL.

Do you happen to know what the timing is now at WOT? Or what it is on a stock program?

did you do it on both rpm ranges? or just the upper rpm....
have you thrown any codes? and hows the gas mileage so far?
i started messing around with mine this morning and i liked what i felt with the butt-o-meter. i went back to the standard predator set up afterwards.

also i got a P1000 code how long does the obdII test take to run? ive cleared it 4 times and it keeps coming back.(all since this morning.)

I used to be at +5% on the 2 timing choices (part and WO throttle). After reading a bunch of guys here running +10%/+10% i decided last week to up it and see how it goes. So far no pinging and it's working like a charm. I had it back to stock +0/+0 for a few days before going to +10/+10 and there was a nice SOTP feel. Nothing major, but enough for me to say in my head 'that's an improvement'.

Full advance. I gained 8rwtq off 4% advance/87 octane.. don't know how much full is worth though. Definitely helps though.

After reading about all these guys maxing out the timing with the predator with no pinging I decided to try +5% low range and +10% high range. The result, a new top speed at the end of the 1/4 . I run 94 octane.

you should be trapping in the high 13's with that trap speed!

Well I get quite a few 13.9xx. I still can't get under my best of 13.823 that I ran before the Predator tune. With this predator tune installed I find it harder to get traction off the line.

Has anyone gone in the complete opposite direction? When I had my Mach dynoed and tuned with my Predator I gained 13 HP and 12 TQ with -12% timing at 4K-7K, and -6% at 2K-4K. Is that a Mach thing, or 4 valve thing or what?
