Hey...

How do you know that your speedo is actually giving the right speed? I have a Garmin iQUE 3600 which is Palm device with integrated GPS, and I made some interesting discoveries while driving different cars:

My Acura TL-S is dead on regarding speed compared to the GPS

MY Volvo XC 70 is indicating 10kph more than actual speed, but it is progressive: under 50kph, the difference is less than 5 kph. That's with the original rubber and wheels.

I'll test this as soon as I get the my GT tomorrow.

One niffty little thing with the Garmin is that one of the guys on a Garmin forum developed an application that can calculate your 0-60, 1/8, 1/8 mile, and offer an autostart or the treelight configuration. The application's name is Time Trial. Tried it with my Acura and it's quite fun. I must test it against an actual run at the drag strip - will wait for the GT to do so.

100 on the freeway - no traffic. It felt like it could easily go much faster...I just didn't have it in me.

Hit what had to be at least 153 on a very long, straight, undisclosed highway. I have a SCT tune so I had the top speed limiter removed.

I also have an Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector as well as six laser blinders - three front, three rear. If anyone was watching, they weren't gettin' a reading.

bleedingvayneAD -

I'll certainly work on that...you've inspired me to just try harder.

The last time i saw the speedometer it read about 138. I was racing a SL 500 and my friend in a srt-4 was behind me. He told me i had to be doing over 140 because he had to hit about that to catch up to us... It Was Lots Of Fun

I wanted to top her out but I got a nice brisk cross wind and that didn't feel real nice so I backed out of it. With my new wheels/tires and suspension it will be moere stable at higher speeds so I'm sure I will give it a go soon!
