my notch has the 2 5.0 badges right now but they are all dirty and chipped and are in dire need of replacment. So how hard is it to replace them? I was thinking about switching to a 2.3 badge instead just to give a few unsuspecting cars a little surprise.

They are glued on. The hard part would be removing them. Replacing them would be a stick on affair.

just take them off and leave them off like on mine IMHO i think it looks better kinda sleeperish if the person is dumb enough not to notice the 2 exhaust pipes or loud exhaust (if you have it)

Take a hair dryer or heat gun (on low heat) and heat up the badge and the metal around it. Very gently pry up on the badge and the adhesive holding it should let go. Often it will leave residue on the paint - especially if they're the original badges. 3M adhesive remover and elbow grease will usually remove the adhesive. The new badges are peel and stick.

That is the factory color of my 87 hatch. It has been repainted 3 times and is now black. Previous owners should have left it the blue.

Take a piece of fishing line, and loop it under the end of the emblem. If you want to save the emblem, GENTLY work it toward the other end, otherwise just peel that puppy off. Here's mine with no badges : www.circlecfarm.com/ourobos.htm

yeah I used a blow dryer to remove the decals from my old bike(gixxer) worked real well and Ive seen them use the fishline on horsepower i think. Hair dryer + fishline is the best way to go
mabey some kind of paint safe adhesive remover too ??
