how i can find out if car got gears

ok when i bougth the car the guy said that the car has gears in it 373 but im not sure about it when i drive 80 mph on 5th gear the rpm are at 2500 it is 2000 gt how can i find out it has cobra wheels on it 245/40/18 please help

Jack the car up at the back, take it out of gear/emergency brake off, then rotate the wheels and count the number of revolutions on the driveshaft to turn the wheel once. Use chalk or paint stick to mark the tires and driveshaft if you have having trouble. That will give you your ratio.

Example: Wheel turns once, Driveshaft turns 3.73 times, you have 3.73:1 gears. Stock would be 3.27

you guys sure what would be my rpms with 3.73 in it in 5 gear doing 80 mph

You have 3.55s with 3.73s you'd be a little over 2600 rpms at 80mph.

yea 2500 is about 80 in mine so yea i'd agree with 3.55s.
