A couple of weeks, just because the cops will be looking to get to know a new driver. I got pulled over THE day I got my my driving permit. I had a '73 Pontiac with a 455ci. Wasn't doing anything wrong, but buddies were acting like idiots.

Well if they know you the same way we do, I give you roughly 30 seconds after entering a public road.

They'll probably be lying in wait.

just dont be an idiot, i was 17 when i got my first mustang and i was a dumbass, my first incident with the police wasnt my fault, i stopped for a fatal accident that happened right in front of me, a girl wrecked her RSX, and i stopped to help and when the police got there they tried to accuse me of street racing and causing the accident. i just told the truth and they let me go, but they were on to me bigtime after that. a month later i got a reckless for doing a burnout in an empty parking lot. a month after that i sped by a cop on the highway and got away but im sure they knew it was me.

now i have a metal plate in my left knee from crashing my first one, that kept me out of the military and all the tickets have kept me from getting jobs. its not worth it and it stays with you.

now 3 years later, new mustang, new me, i smartened up and take it easy in my new car, but every time i drive by a cop he'll pull out and follow me around. its a tough reputation to shake dont make the same dumb ass mistakes i did.

Ooooh, on I burn,
Fuel these pumping engines,
Burning hard, loose and clean,
And on I burn, turning my direction,
Quench my thirst with gasoline...

Gimme fuel, gimme fire, gimme that which I desire!

Had a 5.0 when I was 15 (yeah, go figure) and never did anything dumb minus one time. First day ever driving it. Me and a friend coming home from school, wet roads, stop sign turning left. Ended up pointing to the right after making a left hand turn. Scared me enough to never do anything dumb with it. I made it to 22 now with the same 5.0, never wrecking it once, and only being pulled over one time for doing...

get this...

68 in a 65.

Yes on the MA pike on the way to the dragstrip. Passing a group of cars going 60 or so. Saw the state cop, went by him and he jumped out and grabbed me. Tool gave me a $50 ticket, and the ticket said "passing a police officer" and "not obeying posted limits". Got dropped without worry though.

I always get grabbed when I am driving my hooptie. I am always so concious when I drive the mustang or any of the other muscle cars I've had. when I get in my pos car I usually flog the crap out of it, or I get a warning for a busted tail lens or something stupid like that. I once had a car with a "bad cop no donut" sticker on it and I swear every cop that pulled u pbehind me would flash his lights.

Drive like a gentleman. Drive like you have nothing to prove and nobody to impress. It's a state of mind and an attitude familiar only to the true 5.0 driver.
