Hey guys, i've spent most of my time over at the 5.0 section (hence the avatar) but i sold that car and i'm looking to get a newer car that can be driven all the time. Seems like everything in my price range has a lot of miles on it. Should i be concerned? This car is one i'm considering, but the miles scare me. What do you guys think?

I wouldnt pay as much attention to the miles as the overall shape of the car. thats not a god awful lot of miles. Take it to a reputable shop and have them do a used car inspection. Well worth the money.

I'd be all over it if you were anywhere near me. NC has gotta be at least a 12hour drive.

That one you posted from autotrader looks pretty nice. 92k isnt alot really. I would only pay about 9 grand max for that car though.

I bet you could find a similar one with less miles...that one has HID lights and you won't pass inspection most likely.

I didn't even think about the HID's. There are a couple cars at or around 100k that i'm looking at. I just dont know if i want something with that many miles.

If you're looking for a local shop to check it out, call Martin at STS (732-591-2050) in Old Bridge. It's a short drive from where the car is located. I've known Martin for 20 years and he's not the kind of guy to screw you.

Tell him Mark with the 03 GT and all those damn Jeeps recommended you.

Just talked to the guy, sounds like the car is babied, parts were installed by Larocca's and he has reciepts. Says bottom dollar is $10,500. I'm thinking about offering 10k, but i think even that is too much with those miles. I hate people that don't know what their car is worth.

think about this: How many taxi cabs and police vehicles are crown vics and have a 4.6 in them? Those things have a butt-load of hard driven beat to hell miles on em. The 4.6 is a good reliable motor, its when crazy bastards like us start modding them that **** starts to break

I would say hold out for a 94-95, since you are already familiar with the 5.0 and it's so cheap to mod. Or you could do what I did. I bought a 96 with 55,000 miles on it for $7500 and I'm doing the PI swap with comp cams which will cost a total of about $2500 with parts and labor from MD combine. Thats $10,000, which is what most 99-04's will run with a lot more mileage than my car had when I bought it. Plus, with the work I'm doing, I'll be spanking stock 99-04's. Yea, the 96-98's have the whole cracking intake issue, but so do the 00-01's, and you won't be able to buy a '02+ with that money. So, get a 94-98.

Maybe i'll show up with cash and throw out a low offer. I hate lowballing people, but i also dislike the fact that the car is overpriced....
