How much am I looking at spending?

Okay guys originally I had plans of getting a 99 or newer mustang, which still may be the case, because I really like those models. But now I'm looking on autotrader and I seen 2 cobra's for sale, both 97's, one had 50k miles and they want 12,000, other had like 38,000 miles and they wanted like 10,500 but it was green which isn't my first pick. I'm just curious how much am I looking at spending on a 97 or 98 cobra? I really want it to be around 55,000 miles or less, and I think my budget tops if going to be around 11,500 so I'm just curious if I can get a good deal for around that? Also, did the 97 and 98's have the interior problems like the GT, where the interior starts peeling and stuff? Did they have any notable problems? Any reason why I should get a newer GT rather than the older cobra?

"the 96-98s are a GREAT deal if you ask me. They won't break the bank like a new car purchase might"

I'll second that. After purchasing new both a 2000 GT and a 2002 GT, after getting rid of those, and eventually buying my 96 for $12500 or so I have no regrets. I don't know why I ever bought new before, especially something like a Cobra. I know they depreciate because they are Fords, but WE know it's an SVT Cobra and can appreciate what we're buying.

It looks like good deals there, mine had 68000 miles on it or so. Now I did buy it from a dealership, so I paid a little more, but I really wanted a Cobra.

Once again, great purchase idea as they can be had cheap, and it's a Cobra!

Shop around a bit, You're sure toget a good deal, I got my 98 for only 8,000 2 years ago with only 42,000 miles on it. This guy who owns a shop buy salvaged cars and fixes them up real nice so I was able to get a great deal on it. I'm not to buy a salvaged vehicle, but look around :D

Thanks guys, hopefully I can find one for around 11,000 and fix it up. I'd love to own a cobra, not only do they come stock with more HP than the 99's, but theyre a whole different breed. I like both though, so either way, I don't think I'll be going wrong. I really like the sound of that green one I was looking at for 10,500 but man, I'm just not a big fan of green.

First and foremost though, I have to sell my 97 GT which I'm hoping I'll get decent amount of money for.

Oh BTW, I just checked autotrader again and it looks like they got a new cobra up. It's a 98 cobra, yellow, black interior, 5 speed, 35k miles, and they are asking 10,995. You can't tell much from the picture, but I don't think its a real long drive from me. Does this sound fishy to you guys? It seems pretty low in price to me, cause it sounds like a steal.
