Trying to do this the junkyard way but how much did you spend? Im trying to get a ballparkish idea. Would like to do cobra but gt brakes are fine to.

right around 500 with pbr front calipers. Took me over a year though but I wasn't in a rush. The most $$$$ part was the rear axles from a 98ish GT. I wanted the wider stance.

About $11-1200 including new drilled/slotted rotors, braided lines, and Bullitt calipers. Also new hubs since one of the used ones I got was seized

I could've had the same setup but with all stock SN95 parts (instead of those upgraded/new parts above) for much cheaper like Mustang5L5 said he did. My point is you can get killer brakes & a 5-lug swap for just a few hundred. Or get the Baer or Ford 2300 kit for a lot more

When I bought my car it was converted using the Lincoln/Ranger setup. I kept the Ranger setup in the rear and swapped the fronts. I bought 94 spindles/hubs/rotors/calipers for $125 and SS lines for about $70. Then I wanted the Cobra setup so I bought Mach 1 calipers for $160 and a friend gave me some 13'' Cobra rotors for free. Then I sold the original Lincoln setup on ebay and got $130 for it so that covered my '94 setup cost. Then I sold the '94 calipers/rotors for $20. So basically $160 was my cost by scrounging and dealing.

My goal for the conversion is going to be around $1,000.00 total. I'll let you know how it goes though..

You can certainly do it a lot cheaper than I did; but it's all in what you want. I looked at all options and then decided on going the direction I did. I will be adding some more "secret" options to my brakes this winter- stay tuned.....

Oh of course. But if he wants to keep costs low it's definitely easy to do.

Thanks everyone. Im trying to do the brakes for around $500-$700 which now i can see is very doable.

I paid 150.00 for Bullits and tires (will need tires in the next year).
225 for sn-95 spindles, rotors and calipers.
262 for Yukon axles, drums, seals and bearings.
45.00 for some ceramic brake pads.
Still need to turn the rotors (aprox 10-35.00)
So around a grand

Holy crap, I'm just finishing up my 5-lug and I'm afraid to finally total up everything I spent. I'm insanely jealous of those of you that found awesome deals on wheels.

Oh well, guess I'm just a little impatient. Plus I live in Canada... boo hoo.

Reed: If it makes you feel any better, I got my bullets from someone who had no storage space. New tires are still going to be in the 400.00 range. I've seen combos for just under 700. Didnt save that much.
