How much does a Tweecer cost and who sells them?

I'm debating on getting one or getting a custom burned chip. I know the Tweecer would probably be more cost-effective but if it cost too much then I can't get one right now. So, what site can I go to to price them?

$380 for the base model is pretty close to the price of a custom chip. And once you mod more your custom chip is basically junk and have to reburn it. Sounds like the tweecer is the way to go.

Assuming your talking about my reply above, not sure what your intentions are for future mods but something to consider when picking between a chip and tweecer. Good Luck

Yes, i was talking about your reply. But I just realized I can't afford the other main ingrediant....a laptop.

Not sure on how your were planning on tuning this but most dyno's shops have the tools (puter, laptop, etc..) to hook up to a tweecer. I would check your local dyno shops and see what's availble. If your pretty much done building the motor (after your heads and stuff in your sig) then just get the chip.

Well, I'm gonna be rebuilding my motor and installing my H/C/I in a couple of weeks...my rebuild kit should be in this week. But I plan to stroke it to a 331 in the near future. I'm not sure how near that future is though. Originally I was just gonna get a switchable chip(one with 2 or 3 different programs on it).

so the tweecer replaces the factory computer, and you use a lap top to do all the tuning? Does it still retain a mass air meter or no? Thanx, im trying to comprehend all of this.

No, it doesn't replace the computer. You use it to reprogram the computer to your mods.

I have a Tweecer. It looks like any other chip, but your able to connect wires to it, and it's a little thicker. It goes in the J3 service port on the stock computer, just like a normal chip would...

You don't "need" a laptop to prgram it I program mine with my desktop pc, by bringing it in the house, but I have to leave the computer out of the kick panel since i have to remove the chip each time.....

Before you buy one, you better have a lot of free time on your hands, because everything in the program used to program it is not very simple at all, and none of it is explained in the manual. If it was it would be really thick! You need to take time and spend it on their forums, because thats where 95% of your info will come from. The program is user friendly, but the language is not.....Don't think that you can just make a few mouse clicks and you've got 30 more HP. It's a LOT more complicated than that...

I got my tweecer from ebay for $320 shipped. You can also get one from the classifieds on thier forum. I recomend the Tweecer R/T, I wish I got that one now

I may get one later. I'm gonna see how my car does without either(chip or tweecer). I just made a list of some other thing I need and I won't have enough to get the tweecer. The little knick-knack things really add up..
