I've seen people usually charge $200 or so.

I spent a boatload on gears...

$276.14 - (3.73 FRPP Gears, Rebuild Kit, Trac Loc Rebuild kit, speedometer gear) Purchased at CJponyparts.com (20% off regular price)

$49.75 (Axle Bearings/Axle Seals from NAPA)

$547.61 Labor (Gear install, Trac Loc Rebuild/Amsoil 75W-90 Gear Oil, Trac Additive)

All in all that is $873.50...

Cost me about 250 for the gear install, master bearing kit, axle bearings, and trac lock rebuild. Ended up costing 700 for the whole thing because they had to replace all my rear brakes, but its a decent price for all that work. I got it done by Jake Lomatta, a very well known mustang shop, id take it to a real shop and spend some extra bucks to do it. That way you know its done right, measured correctly and if something does go wrong you can always bring it back, if you guys wanna have fun and try it, go for it, but if it were me i would look for whats best for my car when doing gears and take it to a well known shop. And have extra money just in case.

Our local builder does the labor for $125. But he refuses to build one unless you replace all the bearings and shims and traction lock.
