that is what is invested in the car i have now.....i am not the one that put all of that in there lol...but i was just curious as to what had been invested in the car as it sits right now...anyone else care to show theirs ?

If I typed it all up like that, I'd be here a while!

Let's just say "too much, yet not enough". Thankfully there's virtually no labor costs in it, which I suppose I can find solace in :shrug:

I'm into mine for about 24K (including purchase price). My brother and I rebuilt it from the unibody up and EVERYTHING mechanical related was brand new at the same time. I basically had a brand new car when we were done, except that it's show worthy and unique.

Exterior is done now... Next is performance mods and paint...

1500 for car
130 for carpet
250 for wheels and tires 04 gt
1500 roughly for 5 speed swap
100 for aluminum driveshaft
250 for full exhaust, just never put headers on since they didn't line up at all
180 for 5% tint....including old tint removal
70 for eibach sportline springs


that's about it, maybe tack on a couple hundred for misc. parts such as act, ect sensors, stator...ect. and alot of scrubbing....car was rough (dirty) when I got it.

Last time I added up my receipts, it was somewhere in the ballpark of about $6,000 total (including the $2,000 I spent on the car, itself) ... probably getting closer to $7,000 now. Sadly, it still LOOKS about like a $2,000 car (or worse) ... but at least it runs better than it did when it was about $15k right off the showroom floor (or however much an '89 LX 5.0 notch went for back in the day).

If I took the time to invest in a lift-off hood, filled in the dents/dings, gave it a good spray of paint, and put on some better rims, it would certainly look more like the amount of money I've put into it ... but that would only add another $2,000 onto the total investment, and I'll NEVER get that back if some old fart smashes into my car and an insurance company hoses me for THEIR "book value." Besides ... anything that looks like it's worth something just makes it that much more likely for some butthole to break into it, key it, or otherwise mess with it. I'd rather drive it around looking like a polished turd in the meantime ... being that it IS just that, essentially... :D

Ive put about 3k into it, not including the price of the car. I dont really even care thta I spent alot of money on it. But looking at my pay stub, seeing ive made $8,000 in my work place and I only have about 300 bucks, kinda worries me.

becuase of thr two crashes and the kinda silly amount i paid for it about 20,000, and now all i have left to do is, fix the body to 100% change the side skirts, 5 lug swap with brake uprage, t56 swap, interior work, some custom stero stuff more chrome and a supercharger and it will be done, until the dart based engine and twin turbo's, oh did i mention i would like to put irs on it, and a cage, and more chrome under the hood.....it's a good thing you get feed in the air force otherwise i may starve on my 18,500 a year plus i have crotch rocket addiction to feed as well:D
