How much money would you give for a set of used trickflow heads with 1.6 roller rockers and push rods. it has all the blots but missing two washers. they look like there well used in the means of the runners dark black from carbon and the combustion chambers are dark from use, i noticed two of the intake valves were a light brown "rubbed off" and rest were black. Looks like everything the in dirty or dark can be cleaned off. so what would you all offer him. He is a co-worker and a friend so i dont want to rip him off but at the same time be a deal for both of us. any thoughts would be great. oh yea one other thing... Who do i go to to have them checked out to see if the are in working condition "like no blockages" and to have them clean and re-decked if needed. thank
Tim

Always tricky buying used heads. Especially aluminum ones. Overheated alloy heads can have severe warpage problems.

If you can dissassemble them. Look at the seats and check the guides for play. ensure the valve stem tips are even accros the tops. Straightedge the decks and look for stripped holes and threads.

A good machine shop can check them and do the needed work. Although around my area I actually drive 150 miles to my machinist because most are not worth a crap.

A decent set of box stock quality aluminum heads go from 700-1000 from what Ive seen.

I sold my used AFR 165's for 1000.00
