With a ram air hood with ram air kit. JLT CAI with a xcal3 tune. Corsa x pipe with Corsa axle-back mufflers.

JLT+Tune = 20-30 hp depending on who you talk to. On an otherwise stock vehicle, I'd expect more along the lines of 20 hp.

Corsa mufflers alone = next to nothing. X-pipe should net you a few hp. ~5?

Ram air is the most difficult. On a dyno, you probably won't see nearly anything. Ram air works best when the car is being driven, and the faster you are going, the more horsies it will produce since the air is literally being 'rammed' into the engine faster.

Right. I guess I'm not too concerned about the dyno as much as actual driving pleasure. Will I notice a pretty good difference from my stock 05GT? And if i took it to the local 1/8 mile track, could I hang with some cars just on this alone?

Yeah, you will notice a difference with your mods. You could crack the high 12's with some good traction and racing conditions. Doesn't take much to get the S197's into the 12's.

One question, why not go with the prochamber? They produce pretty decent gains on the S197's. Some have claimed up to 15-20hp. The only thing that's not attractive about the prochamber is the price for your model $400 and something

For the x pipe and mufflers? Well for one I'm a little skeptic about the HP gain claims, and two I think MAC sounds like ####.

The prochamber is a mid pipe. It's a crossover of an x and h pipe, it deletes the cats so you'll gain a decent amount of hp. Prochambers are good, probably one of the best mac products in their line. Sounds good with chambered mufflers.

I just looked them up. Seems like an interesting idea. I pretty much picked the Corsa exhaust b/c I liked the way they sounded the best.

Did you listen to the black mustang on the site? That mustang also has other exhaust mods to make it sound the way it does. Yours might not sound as aggressive as that one with just the Corsa mufflers.

Well I'm putting the x-pipe on too but ya I saw the black stang had long tube headers and what not. My buddy has corsa mufflers on his 05 GT and it sounds great. I think with an x-pipe and mufflers it should sound real good.

It's a corsa x-pipe but now that I look at it its not an o/r. Theres no cats on it but it looks like u just cut your h-pipe off and put the x-pipe on. I'm not sure if i like that.

Pypes is likely the best deal on a OR H-Pipe. $174 Shipped from Brenspeed last I checked. Maybe 8 rwhp. An X will net you maybe 2 more rwhp but the make a Mustang sound like a Foreign Car to my ear.

I would try just the ORH with the stock Mufflers first. They are pretty free flowing and actually pretty aggressive without the Cats. To me the ORH + Stock Mufflers also has the best tone of any system I have heard. If you have an M5 the stock Mufflers are actually better than the ones on the GT500. if you have an A5 you have the same mufflers as a GT500.

The CAI/Tune also makes the car a little louder at higher throttle openings.

If you have an Auto get an SCT as it can adjust line pressure to the trans (Diablosport didnt used to be capable of this). Buy it from a tuner and get his Mailorder Programs with the tuner. it costs essentially the same and they are better than the "Canned" SCT Tunes.

As to results... For the CAI/Tune Check my Sig and be aware the conditions were 600' WORSE when I ran the CAI/Tune so it actually understates the improvement.

Would it be feasible to beat a co-worker of mine after the mods are installed in an 1/8 mile drag.

he has a 98 c5 vette with only corsa mufflers.

I don't see why not. Give it a shot, the 98 c5 make 350hp stock I believe(correct me if I'm wrong). Be sure to report the times once you guys race

I have the Flows/Pypes O/R H combo now. I was running the O/R H with the stock mufflers for a bit. It wasn't that bad and will save money towards other performance mods. I had the Flows before that, that's why I went back to the combo(sounds awesome). The only thing the stockers lack is bigger tips to fill the cutout. That is easy to remedy

Here are the clips of the O/R H with stock mufflers.
