have read some posts and seem to get conflicting info, I've read ...to mate the rear & AOD you need to cut the driveshaft about 1" ...I've also read no shortening necessary... Anyone know from experience ? Where talking about a 66 with a 93 5.0 and AOD.
I am doing a swap also. I have 66 with a 289 and I am going to an AOD.
When someone finds out, I would like to know also how much to cut the
driveshaft.
I took about an inch off, but I also got rid of the two piece design while I was modifing/cutting the drive shaft. Measuring it would be your best bet.
I found it on CHepie's site...WF says 50-1/8th. The question then is...if that is the correct lenght for a 69/70 it is porbably the same for a 67/68, but what about the 65/66 cars?
