17 here. Probably the youngest here, I won't be 18 until December. The only reason I have a Mustang is because I'm homeschooled and got a job, worked hard and saved up my money for a year then bought one. I guess you could say I earned that? LOL

-hey, I worked ever since I turned 16 at Taco Time to buy my stang... no handout here quit the day I got it I salute you, me, and anyone who actually worked, and didn't squander their money first, for a stang (my neighbors, as you can tell by my location, each got brand new BMWs when they turned 16, a new M3, and an X5...) just my luck, both are faster

Well Paul, perhaps getting married adds a few extra years above and beyond your chronological age . I'm still single, but I no longer consider myself a crazy 21-year-old type. Now I find that I'm starting to see high schoolers as children. THAT makes me feel old, especially when I realize how many of the members of this forum would qualify as a kid in my book . For some people 30 is the first "crisis" age, when you realize that your 20's just disappeared like nothing. I don't see 30 as a crisis perhaps, but I see the point. So when are you having your first rugrat?

Man...I had my first crisis when I turned 21...The fact that I don't need to ask anyone to buy beer...or use someone elses ID to get into bars makes me feel old...Our sexual peak is way past our prime...

I have an opposite problem. I'm 20 and people don't believe I'm 18, and I'm going to be 21 in a couple months and people will probably think I have a fake ID.

I can't believe the length of the sigs in here by guys younger than me! What am I doing wrong??

I'm a sophe. I haven't even applied to the IT college/program yet, and am still going to the Liberal Arts one here at the U of M. I've also been undecided for a good part of the last 1.5 years, and have taken a lot of General classes.

I don't plan to major in both, and i should have made that clear. Just noting how i've taken lots of Liberal Art/general classes as well as a handfull of pre-engineering courses to date. I'm hoping that the general classes i've taken thus far will fullfill the credits i'll need outside of my major (which should be Mech Eng).

Ah, U of M? Nothing but engineers out there (half sarcasm). I hope you declare soon, unless you want to go to school for 5 or more years (which is not a bad thing by any means).

I work around 28-30 hours a week... But during summer it was more like 40-45 hour weeks but I was making $6.25 back then. It helps not having any big bills like car payments, apartment, etc to have to pay for. Almost all of my extra money goes to my car... every now and then I'll use it to go do something fun, but other than that its for my car.

All my Twisted Wedge stuff was bought used but still in great condition so that helped out a lot! I'm good with my money... I can have $500+ dollars sitting in my room and won't touch it until I reached however much I need for the part I'm going to buy.

Ah, I remember those days, make $7 an hour and be able to afford whatever I wanted.
I make over 3 times that now and have been working on buying a $150 amp for my car for 4 months

You and me are about the same. I saved every penny of mine since I was like 4 to buy my first car. Sadly enough, I sold it this last august. But I've been working my ass off so I can buy another one. I'm gonna keep the jeep too, so its gonna be tough.
I paid in full for my first car, and i pay insurance and gas too. I was only making $6.50 this whole last year, but I jsut got a new job at O'Reilly!! And I make $7.50 + commission, so I'm happy as hell now. I just need a car to put this parts discoutn to use.

dang guys... I made $10/hour plus $15 on Sat/Sun, and that was my starting wage! I took home a good $700-$800 each paycheck (every two weeks) while going to school, and found time for my stang and sleep!

I worked in the coal mines during college doing belt vulcanizing and I was making $15/hr during the week and $17/hr on weekends... that is how I afforded my car. That job SUCKED but it makes me appreciate my car and my current job all the more.
