How should I mod my 94 gt?

I just bought a 1994 gt 5.0 and I want to do some upgrades. Before I bought the car I was told that the car has had "shorter gears put in" (my car knowledge is fairly basic so im not 100% sure what that does for me...) and I was just wondering what other types of mods will take me out of the 15's and maybe in to the 14's. Thanks!

sub frame connecters, headers,exhaust system,pulley kit, new rear gears, some intake modifications, upper and lower control arms,a better short throw shifter, improve ignition (wires,plugs Msd etc) and many other things yoo could do. The first few are
very important.

find out what gears were put in (if they were)....if you wanna estimate...jack the rear of the car up...put a mark on the driveshaft and spin the rear wheels once around....see how many times the drifeshaft turns...thats your rear end ratio....get back to us with that one....id look into some underdrive pulleys for your next mod depending on what gears you have....

1st things 1st

Like the other guy said, Get SUBFRAME connectors first, just installing these alone will make your car feel much, much more stable. I did my 1st car the wrong way. I got a supercharger 1st then started doing my suspension. If you want to build your car take care of the important stuff 1st. do this

1) Subframe Connectors
2) Upgrade your brakes.eg bear racing, brembo
3) Panhard rod
4) offroad pipe, this can be done at anytime.
5) Gears 5speed get 3.55s auto get 3.73s
6) short throw shifter makes the car much more fun
7) Caster camber Plates, springs ect. I did mostly M&M stuff, you won't believe how much fun a car is when your able to blaze turns faster than Porshes and Ferrari's
8) Now your ready for the engine, Intake Manifold, Heads, Headers, Camshaft.
9) Now you've got a fun and well balanced car.

This is from experience, like I said before my first car started with a supercharger, although the charger was TONS of fun, you might wanna take care of the important stuff first before your throw down 3k-4k on just a supercharger and misc components for it. Get the Frame, brakes and Suspension taken care of first, then go all out with the engine.

I agree with all of the above, with the possible exception of the brakes. The stock brakes aren't good, but they're not really that bad either, and dropping like $1000-$1200 on upgrades like Baer or Brembo is tough (for me anyway), when you can get so much more, relatively speaking, out of that money when it's spent on things like springs/shocks/struts, panhard bar, subframes, or on the exhaust. But I definitely agree, do the suspension first. Subframe connectors (full length!), panhard bar, and springs/shocks/struts/lower rear control arms, in that order. After that your car will feel like it's riding on rails, and any increase in power becomes much more fun!

I agree completely. Once the suspension is race ready, though, look at what makes the car go and hit it that way, unless you want a complete rebuild with an overbore and such. Intake, exhaust, fuel system, ignition. Follow those 4 routes and you can't go wrong. Increasing and improving on any of the above mentioned will guarantee some imporved performance numbers. Don't forget a good chip to go with all that though, as changing all this requires reprogramming. I'm not a guru myself on engines, but following those guidelines, I've managed to crack out some pretty good horsepower.
