I'm trying to decide between the eaton truetrac or the frpp tracloc w/ carbon clutches. How much can the frpp diff handle? I want to be able to launch with slicks and not worry about it failing.

Its very strong and if it starts to wear out its rebuildable.

just get the diff out of any truck 8.8 in a bone yard if you can find that cheaper. I have a 31 spline 8.8 carrier ready to drop into my car, it came out of a 2002 F-150. Now I just have to get some axles

They might be able to pull it for you. Allot of the yards around here are starting to go that route due to insurance reasons of having people in their yard getting hurt. Just because you sign a little waver doesn't mean anything. Its more to track who and how many times people go in their yard.

I have the FRPP 31 spline differential and it holds up just fine.
I have launched on drag radials and slicks on this differential
and I never had any problems. They are completely rebuildable
and you could fined one in a junkyard and just rebuild it.
I just bought a new one to save time.

Install the carbon fiber clutches Mike you will be glad you did they
are the best. What axles do you plan on getting? I have the Yukon
31 spline axles they hold up great. It's funny that my friends 31 spline
Strange axles snapped on the passenger side on a hard launch on
slicks and I never had a problem with my Yukon axles. From what I
hear the Moser axles are the best out there. Are you still running
FRPP 4.10's Mike?

I run the regular clutches in mine stacked tight and it hooks just fine, no need for the carbon clutches.

The carbon ones are another 20 bucks extra in the rebuild kit right?

depending on how much cash I get, I might just go with the truetrac. Then ill never have to have the rear taken apart again unless I swap gears.

Yes, get the carbon fiber clutches they hold
up better under stress.

The FRPP 31 spline differential will hold up just as well as the Truetrac.
Just make sure you get the carbon fiber clutches and your golden.
In my opinion I think you will be wasting your coins if you get the Truetrac.
