How to A/C Delete?

is there anywhere i can find out how to do this???I know i have to buy the Eliminator Kit, but what lines can i pull off?? Do i Have to move the the Power Steering pump up? I noticed some lines goin into the radiator do they need to be capped off?.. Help and Pics would be great!!!!

You can remove anything that's connected to the A/C system under the hood, and the lines that run to the 'radiator' are actually running into the condensor in front fo the radiator which can also be removed. Other than that, it's just the kit you already know about.

Those lines goto the a/c condenser which is in front of the radiator. You can get a kit that keeps the power steering pump where it's at now but then it puts a ugly idler pulley where the a/c pumpp went. I'd just get a kit that relocates the power steering pump to where the a/c was.

Well i am doing it because my A/C leaks and i'm tired of temp-fixing it for meager performance. Middle of the summer it gave out again and i decided to be done with it.

I just got my FMS delete kit from summit today. I took out all the other components before and just left the compressor in place for now. It's a pretty decent amount of weight to remove and it cleans up the engine bay a lot.

If the weather cooperated i'll install my delete kit tomorrow

Dude just buy a shorter belt and bypass the a/c pump. simple as that. Visit www.netstang.com and click on the Performance Tips links and then the Replace Serpentine Belt link. It's the most effective tip without having to spend any excessive amount of money and getting your balls all greased up...plus it comes in handy.

It was easy for us to take out our A/C on our 88GT. We just got a A/C Eliminator Bracket From Ford racing.(The March Didn't Work). I just took out a nice big knife and cut everying that was A/C related out of the car. The Kit Moves the power steering pump to where the a/cpump was, it worked great and saved about 50lbs off the front of the car.

You can't do it that way without bringing the P/S pump up a bit. The angle the belt runs off the alt to the P/S in the stock location is too low for the tensioner to work at all

Bingo......if it was simple enough to just run a shorter belt, everyone would do it.

Well basically I want to get out of under my hood because im going to be putting a different engine in it, just want to get rid of all the A/C lines on the car. I am also in Michigan And yes we do get some hot days I'd just rather cruze around with the windows down.

I can also rip out that canister thing on the firewall correct???

The March Didnt work on your car?? cuz thats what i got an 88GT and was going to order it out of summit....

he could do it that way... run mine in the stock location(with a march bracket), all ya gotta do is reverse the belt tensioner....very simple to do.....

dont get the march kit its ugly...if u want it to look Factory and clean get teh FMS kit....u can get it for liek $35....and yes the evaporator (can) the condensor in grille and lines, all can be removed just cut it all out,....and the FMS kit is cake to install. good luck

I basically ran a shorter belt with no AC and smog , with everything in the stock location. I ran a 77.5" belt with crank & water pump UD pullies and the stock alt pulley. What I had to do is loosed the alt let it come over to get the belt on and pulled it back over and nolted it down. Never has any problem..
