How to bleed the coolant system?

Where I am it was 116*F yesterday. Now that'll really put any cooling system to a stern test.

By topping off the system that should mean making sure the coolant level in the degas/reservoir bottle is above the cold level mark. If the bottle is sucked dry as the engine cools air will be drawn into the system. If that happens you just invite an overheating condition.

I've never had one that didn't bleed fine on it's own. Generally if you are having problems, you run it with the front of the car slightly elevated up to temperature. Then when it cools down to no pressure, top off the system.

I had a problem with mine and elevating the front end was the key to fixing it.
