I bought this volt meter to see what is my tps volt but don't know how to use. I have never use voltmeter before and don't know which wire to check.

This is what I bought off ebay, Where should I turn the dial at ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Digital-LCD-Mul...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

Do I have to slice the wire that plugs into TPS ? Which wire , there are 3.

Help

I think the "green" numbers on the left side of the meter is DC voltage. The "white" numbers(200-500 range) is AC volatage. Don't slice the wires going into the TPS. Take paper clips and slide them into where the wires goes into the connectors. Gently wiggle them in there. You'll also need some aligator clips. Attach the aligator clips to the paper clips and meter probes. Ofcourse, keep the positive and negative sides away from each other. Also, leave the wires connectors on the TPS connected. Do some research on the internet about checking and back probing circuits with a volt meter. Be careful. It's not that hard. Pearl02.

DC for auto's. AC for home. Better to ask. You'll also want your meter set around 20 in that "green" area. Pearl02.

The ground wire needs to go to the ground wire of the TPS. It's been a couple of yrs since I installed my Accufab TB. I believe the TPS has 3 wires. You should have 2 wires hooked up to the TPS connector. 1 for positive and 1 for negative. Off hand I can't remember which wires are positive and negative. Open the throttle up as you check for voltage. If you have the positve and negative wire crossed it will so the voltage as a negative value on your meter. Pearl02.

Why didn't you just check your tps voltage using your XCal?

If you can datalog with it you should be able to. I don't have an xcal but when I check mine, I turn the key on with the engine off and just log the tps from inside the car.

Hope you get her running soon. Back probing and checking circuits can be tricky at times. I've made a few mistakes and luckily I was able to fix them. Follow those Accufab direction. You'll probably have to set the voltage some. There is alittle play with the TPS where it sits on the TB. You can "twist" it some but be careful. Pearl02.

I drove to work today , right after I start my car this morning check engine light came on. I checked it with SCT and says TPS low volt. Now my rpm hangs real bad. If I give some gas then prm just stay most of the time, kind of scary to drive cause I can drive my car without giving gas after it's moving. Do you think it will be ok for me to drive like this until I get my TPS that I bought of ebay ?

To be honest I'm not sure if it's safe to drive. The TPS tell the pcm how far the throttle is open based on voltage output. .98 volts would be idle and 4.5vlts would be full throttle. Sounds like your SCT is saying the voltage output is low. The pcm may running it in the "safe" mode. If this is the case it should be ok to drive the car. Pearl02.

Today I got my TPS so I install it, I got best volt 0.77 idle and 462 WOT. I though that was low so I mess with tb stop and came with .085-0.86 at idle and 462-463 wot.

Is that too low or with new tps that's the way it is. If so I will like to put back my idle stop to the way it was before. Please let me know asap.

I also bought all 8 accel coil on plugs from brotherperformance ebay , did my coil change too and seems to be running good .Hope my bogging problem goes away.
