my car doesn't like starting up when it's been sitting cold for awhile... i just did a tune up and it also has been running quite rich lately... how do i clean/check tha tps and iac?
you shouldn't really need to clean the TPS, just set the voltage. the voltage between the green(+) and black(-) wires going to the TPS should be about .99v with the key on. if the voltage is out of spec. loosen the screws and rotate the TPS until you get the proper voltage. to clean the IAC first take it off of the TB (make sure you have an extra gasket laying aroung just in case) and then remove the two screws holding it together and take it apart into two pieces (make sure not to loose the o-ring). set the piece with the plastic plug on it aside and just let the other piece soak in some carb cleaner for a while to get all the carbon out. move the plunger a bit with your finger and if it is still stiff try and scrub out the inside of the IAC with some carb cleaner and a small pipe cleaner. good luck!
You cant go wrong with that, just dont submerge it in any liquids. Clean it well. If that doesnt work, remove and clean the TB, that solves many idle problems on these cars. Dont forget pulling the codes too, think simple stuff first.

dont forget about the ECT and ACT if all else fails - they can be out of calibration but not out of spec (no code). what is the car doing exactly at start up and in open loop (if that is where the problems are)?
