I have been wanting a street car for sometime. There has been an ad in the paper for 2 weeks now for an 89 5.0. All it says is black, 5.0 clean condition must see. $3450 is the price listed.

The car is in a rural area, so no telling what I will find. Might be a hacked carb conversion or a 4 banger conversion.

Assuming this is a factory v8 car in good condition with average mileage (10-12k per year), what is this worth? Any difference between auto and stick?
All of the pricing web sites price these cars way lower than what any sane person would ever part with one for.

Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated. With a race car, truck, trailer, honda and company truck occupying the driveway already, this car would have to be perfect or come down to damn near free, but I still cant help but look.

Considering selling the race car due to the limited amount of time that I am able to enjoy it.

Hllon, as you so know, it is all regional with pricing. I look at it as what is it worth to me. I read threads in here and see rediculous prices of what people paid (stuff where I live must have gold in it because cars here go for much more money).

If it is in good shape with no glaring needs, I would pay that much for it. When I was lookin for another fox, I could not find anything even worth taking for a drive for under 6K. It was just stupid.
I have a story for another time about what I thought would be a cool car (black 87 T-top car. I was pumped to see it) - I did not even sit in the car (I did not want to ruin my pants).

I really dont think it is worth trying to figure this stuff out till you see it - most stuff is so disappointing. But there are gems out there, so I hear.

Good luck with it!
