how to go about this?

Hello fellas i have been leaking oil from my motor sence some time now i am going to start tearing it down today...the leak is around the seal for the bottom pulley on the from of my motor...the word isnt coming to me right now something balancer.

My questions is how to go about this without screwing something up i have never done this before, do i have to lift the motor,take off the oil pan etc etc?

There is a seal that is fitted into the timing chain cover. The seal rides on the harmonic balancer. You can pull the balancer, remove the timing chain cover and replace the seal by removing it with a screw driver. You do not need to pul the oil pan to do this. You will however need a balancer puller tool. You can rent these at Autozone or any other major auto parts store.
