What characteristics separate the Mexican Block 302 from a standard 302 block?

You ask it in Spanish if it's a Mexican block -- if it says "si" -- voila.

Sorry - not a clue, as usual.

From what I've read, slighty thicker main webbings.

It says" hecho en mexico" in the lifter valley and im guessing the part number should be around the late 70s....

Oh well, I don't see any of that on my block. Well, that's cool because I don't want to have to worry about applying for a vesa for my engine or worry about the INS seizing it.

I believe Mexican blocks actually say MEXICO on them somewhere. If I remember right, they say it in the lifter valley where it says 302.

EDIT: Just like TIMMY2734 said.

The mexican block has two humps that protrude from the front of the block on the front-both sides of the water outlets.

I don't think the Mexican 302 blocks are roller blocks, so you may need to get a retrofit kit to use a roller cam.
