How to remove the proportioning valve?! upgrade it? (pics)

How do I remove my proportioning valve? Yes I stripped mine, I could problay re-thread it and ill try that.

BUT

Also I added 13" Cobras up front and larger rotors out back as well as SS lines and a new 94GT MC, is it a good or bad idea to upgrade to a aftermarket proportining valve? EDIT: On 2nd thought it seems that it only has one inlet and outlet. So that wont work right?

Would one from a 99 work, or a cobra? what are my options?

humm do i have to remove my inner fender liner to get at a bolt on the inside of the fender!?

no, there is a nut holding the p/v on, its just under the fenderwell so no need to remove it and no need to upgrade it either.

Good thing is .... if you do replace it ... you can find a better place/way of mounting it (in case you ever have to access it again + the looks).

I just noticed that all of the one's Summit sells are single IN/OUT. They even sell a plug so you can delete lines.

Sorry that confusied me lol. I need to get the Prop valve off, how do I get at this nut?

Yea I dont get how that works, we have 2 lines in 2 lines out correct? How would 1 and 1 work? I can get a aftermarket for about the same price as a new one.

Will a 94 Cobra bolt right up and give me better braking power? Or what should I replace mine with if I cant repair it just a stock 94 replacement?

alright matt check this out, to run an aftermarket prop valve you must gut the factory unit then place the aftermarket unit inline with a rear brake hard line--hence the single in/out.

what you could do is eliminate the factory prop valve by running some sort of unions and stuff that directly connect the lines to the m/c. after you do that you HAVE to run an aftermarket unit.

There is a nut that is holding it, but I don't think you need to remove the inner fender liner. If you take the wheel off and look around in there you should be able to find it.

i advise not to try and repair it, if u try tapping it all that metal sh-t is gonna fall down in there. just buy a new one and be done with it. as far as removing it, just take the wheel off and look straight ahead, pretty much right behind the strut. you'll see 1 nut, that is the nut holding the vavle in.

i think it is worth it. as far as i am concerned ford failed bad at rear brake pressure which means you really only have one way to go.
