The Ford emblem on the trunk has an allignment hole on it so you'll either have to get a plug, or have the trunk filled (which means body work). As far as removing the actual emblem, get a hairdryer to warm the emblem up and use dental floss or fishing line to get behind and and "saw" it off. The remaining tape residue can be removed with WD40 or Goof-Off.

Is that the same as Goo-Gone?

DO NOT USE GOOF-OFF!!!!

Goof off does not mix well with plastics. It likes to take the Adhesive residue and the plastic right off your car.

Use Goo-Gone. It is oil based and you should have no problems with it at all.

I agree that Goof Off is a stonger chemical substance, but in extreme cases I found it to work better then Goo-Gone. I used Goof Off on my rear bumper to remove a residue from previous reflective bumper inserts, and the removal of the Gt emblem on my previous car - neither panel took any damage. I highly recommend a spot-wax afterwards though. WD40 may even do the trick for the emblem all by itself - it depends how lucky you get when the emblem comes off.

definetly hit the paint w/ wax afterwards. goo gone, goof off, and wd-40 will strip the wax off.

Xylol is great for getting sticky **** off.. it turns it to liquid.. I've used it on all sorts of paint without problems.. although it is REALLY strong, and will melt plastic if you leave it on long enough.

I would first use a heat gun and the dental floss method. If necessary, wrap a small flathead screwdriver with a thin towel and pry it off with that.

Use a DENTAL FLOSS.

This will cut through the double sided tape and WILL NOT scratch the paint.

When you have removed the "badge" some of the double sided tape will be on the car. use a bug or gum remover to gently clean off the remaining residue.

FYI, there's a hole in the badge area when you removed it. Buy a better looking badge to cover up that hole.
