One of my friends blew his stock rear apart dumping the clutch at 4grand. and some other of my friends have gotten away with dumping the clutch at 5.5 or even 6 grand (my friend with an STi, or so he says at least ).

I've heard the stock tires dont need to be heated up, infact, hook better if they're not heated before the race, dunno if thats true or not.

now with an auto (which I have), I heat em up, and punch it. I have neutral dropped in my old beater (which I later wrecked into a tree anyway), but I never do that in the stang (really not good for the car, pretty much as a whole). Slicks/drag radial tires can help launch, better stall on your torque converter can help. And of course, knowing how your car reacts under what circumstances.

i have an auto i launch at 1700 rpms sorry i couldnt understand you. might want to lay off the slang just a tad

if you are racing on street tires, stay out of the waterbox, and do a quick burnout just to get the rubber warmed up a little. then i launch at about 1700-2000 rpm on street tires. if you have slicks, rev higher to like 5 or something, but i dont have slicks so i cant say for sure. dump the clutch on green, once you hook, put the pedal to the floor.

I don't see how most guys hook on street tires. I have trouble leaving the line at idle and slowly getting on the gas through 1st with out it spinning everywhere.

Wait til you get gears, then you'll really have a problem!
But what you need is some more tire and practice. My wife's 01, with new Bridgestone Potenza RE-750 275/40 on 9" rims and 4.10 gearing, hooks much better than my 3.73 equiped stock rims and tires (of course, at 25K miles, the tires are about shot! - Goodyears ) But my point is, even an extra inch will help. But it takes practice! I can launch either of our GTs, pretty hard, with minimal tire spin - and that's the trick...get those tires to turn as quickly as possible without losing traction.

i go up to 2,500 with my car ride it out at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle then feel it hook and floor it......normally pull 2.0s and some high 1.97's with 18 inch sumitomo tires

rev up to at least 6000+ rpm until the needle bounces and the car acts funny... that's when you pop the clutch and floor teh gas

1. If you have stock tires, skip the water box, and do a quick burnout(not to heat the tires, just to clean them up).
2. Get the RPM's up around 2000-2500, then slip the clutch with about half throttle until you feel the car hook, the give it all hell.

A little tire spin is ok. Helps the car get into the power band a little faster.

Practice makes perfect.
