How to take off pullies??

WtF? i was told if i leave the belt on it would have enough tention to break the bolts lose. But no! Even with the car in gear it would rotat and even move the car forward or back. how do i take the pullies off to install new ones? Espesially the alternator pullie.

Alt pulley I had to use an intake wrench. For the crank, I put it in reverse or 5th and threw the ebrake on and used a big bar around my wrench.

Make sure you are loosening the bolts for the crank pulley (there are four) and NOT the big bolt for the damper. You will have to use an impact wrench for the alt pulley.

i was able to get all them off myself with ease, but i had a shop take the alt off with an impact gun

Just take the bolts out and then whach the pullies with a hammer to break them loose

how can i do it with out an impact wrench?
and how would an impact wrench even help? it will only rotat the engien assembly faster.
