Sorry if this isn't considered tech but i wasn't sure...
I'm going to be installing my timing chain cover/vibration damper/water pump etc over the next few days so i went to auto zone and loaned their torque wrench. It is an "OEM Click-Type" wrench. The only thing is i have no clue how to set it and use it and my buddies aren't exactly mechanics themselves lol. So, i'll describe it and if anyone can please teach me how to use it that would be great, because i really want to be careful to go by torque specs.

Ok of course at the head of the wrench it has the thing you turn to change direction. The main part of the wrench handle is crome while the part you hold is black. On the crome part right above the part you hold there are the torque numbers going up from 30 all the way up to 250. Ok at the top of the black handle there are numbers going around it from 0 to 8 so you can turn the handle to line those numbers up with the tree of numbers going from 30 to 250 i assume. And then there is a thing you can slide down and up to lock the black handle in place or unlock it to turn it.

I really hope this makes sense...Thanks for any help...Oh and sense the number tree starts at 30...I think i might have to borrow a different one to do this job...the pump etc only takes like 12 pounds, but at least i can use this one to learn haha.

thats pretty much the just of it. I just turn the handle to the desired setting, place my left hand on the end of the wrench above the socket and my right on the handle and just tighten until it clicks.

Huh? How do the numbers on the part that you turn (0-8) relate to the numbers 30-250 on the chrome part? For instance....how would i pick 60 lbs?
Thanks.
