hows a 5.0 stack up against a supra TT?

this isnt a stock for stock situation.. kid talking trash how he will rip my car to shreds with a supra TT thats hes going to buy.. by that time though, either me or mustangjoe87 will have found the anti-supra solution.. just wondering what yall think about those cars.. and how much power do we really need to beat its face in

It's one thing to say "when I get this put on" or "when my car is running", but I'd really laugh at anyone talking about a car they don't even have yet!

I don't know much about Supras but I do see that they're picked on a lot for being nowhere near as fast as their power would suggest.

ok stock supras arent that fast especially if your doing a 1/4 mile run...but hes not talking about stock..wether the other guy gets it or not thechevyeater still wants to know...and i linked a few clips that will prove to you what a supra can do and that modded supras are more common then stock supras...and my heart belongs to the 5 oh..but i can always admist to a fast car....just like i can admit an 05 gto...c6 zo6...some ls1's...are fast i will admit that a TT supra is nothing to laugh at....at all

A Supra and Mustang are 2 different cars. The Supra Sucks plain and simple and the track, ive seen guys with Supras trapping 118 and running low 13's in the quarter. They are highway queens, from a stop they are dogs. I love the looks of them and the top end power but for me its all about the 0 to 1320ft. Ive yet to race one so i cant talk to much smack

Stock they are pretty weak, my 91 Mistubishi Eclipse GSX ran with a stock one, I was like $30000 car to $4000, that sucks man.

ive personally ran one with my car .... which is good for 12.40's

this was a lightly modded supra with free mods and an exhaust..

he had drag radials and from a stop would get out on me a car and it would stay like that till we let off ...

any kind of moving roll all the way to 60ft i would just walk slowly away .

yet at the track his car had been 11.69 @ 116 it was the only supra i have ever seen run correct mph for its et ....

yeah i have herd about low 13s stock. i have not raced any. but would not expect a close to stock fox to win.

isnt there two gen's. i think so at least. what one is he getting

The older ones ('86 1/2 - '92) are only single Turbo, around 240ish hp, though there are a few models with more HP. A modded FOX would own this model. The '93 - ? models are the bad ass years. With a few easy mods can make around 500HP. But as said, are high RPM killers. Take him from a dead stop and only race to 1/4 mile and you should be okay depending on his setup.

I think you guys underestimate the car. I think stock, it would be on par with a mildy modded 5.0. If he has a few good mods, maybe turbo back and some good tires, i can't see the 5.0 winning unless the supra kid can't drive.

Anyone who says that the Supra "sucks" is a ****ing idiot.

The 93+ TT models can and DO run 13s stock. They will tear up any year 5.0 stock to stock easily.

It is REAL easy to get one into the 12s- tires that grip and upped boost.

The STOCK Supra block is good for 1200+ hp as evidenced by a local kid with a 1600hp, stock block Supra...

Supras ARE known for big HP cars with suck ass ETs- due to the fact that lots of dudes take 93+ TT models, rip of the twins and add a huge single turbo and put down 900hp...without realizing that the LONG spool up time needed for that monster turbo has effectively destroyed their chance for a good ET.

In the 1/4 mile expect a stock 93-98 TT Supra to run mid-low 13's......maybe high 13's with a crappy driver. They trap around 105 mph.

Exactly. Supra's from a roll can, or may do damage, but, off the line, from my personal experience at our local track, they suck. And again, they're two different cars, and, to be honest, it sounds like a guy on an ego trip just jealous/envyous of your car. Tell him to get a life, that's what I do. I dont even waste my gas on people like that. I mean....think about it, a guy is planning on buying a nice car, which they are, honestly, and the first thought he has is to beat the piss out of it trying to beat someone so he feels good about himself, or his investment or both I dunno. Ignore people like that, laugh at them, give'em some pipes lette'm know what's good, nothing like a stang, any year I dont care. Mustang>all, faster or not I simply never cared.
