Are the dust caps supposed to have holes in the sides?

I've never seen any have holes in them, they are suppose to be solid to keep debri out.

I didn't think so. Couldn't remember thanks. Doesn't make sense. Plus they are right where a hammer on a screwdriver would pierce them. That is what you get for letting someone else work on your vehicle... It was winter and was getting my tires replaced. They found my wheel to wobble so they offered to repack bearings for me.

It was hard to imagine they put holes in BOTH of them but they did...

Autozone had a pair way in the back. Took the guy a while to find them lol. They were only $9 and change.

Where that hole is wouldn't really let much debris in....unless you are rally racing your car ever week.

Granted, i'd want new caps too.

When I pulled the wheels off there was grease seeping out of the dust cap and all over hub. Some slung inside the wheel as well. It was holding water too I guess because of this cuz there was a lot of moisture and water drippage after pulling the wheels off. It hasn't rained in a while and car has been sitting for over 2 weeks jacked up on stands...
