Bought an 08GT tonight !

Went to the dealership today Future Ford in Sac, and I got a brand new 08' GT with 10 miles on it...... OH ITS SO PRETTY, Out the door 33,216 $$$$ with all the extra goodies. They gave me 12,500 for my ride. And I owed 15,729. So I went in with a little bit of negative, but it was worth it.!
I know I could have gotten a nice azz cobra for that price, but it has a 75,000 mile bumper to bumper warrenty (never had a warrenty before so this is new) came with the bullit wheel package except the rears are 275/40/18 and the front are 245/40/18 hood scoop, i had installed a nice after market stereo system, 2 10' subs with a 600 watt fosgate amp and a nice new headunit with HD radio and ipod hook up in the center "flip up thingy"........ I wasted no time after I got her, I had a set of one chamber flows put on that I had lying around, got the C&L intake and tuner kit from a local shop, and YES its an auto, so im already looking at a stall converter and 3:90s. Next on the list is some suspension mods and wider tires for the rear ! Shes the dark silver not the gun metal gray, full window tint 5% all the way around. Already lowered an inch with some random ford package they had on the car.

I know this thread is worthless with out pics but its 2:00am in Cali right now and I just got done playing with everything in the car and reading the manual. NEVER OWED A NEW CAR, so I wanted to make sure I didnt F'd anything up down the road !

I promise to post pics of the car when I awake in 4 hours to go to work and there is sunlight !

Sounds good. May not be the fastest yet (compared to a Cobra), but 3v's (even autos) have a ton of potential. Sounds like you are stoked about it being brand new w/ warrenty and all. Must be nice!!! hahaha. My bud just bought an 05 with 2500 miles on it, warrenty remaining.

id pay a little more for a "nicer/different" looking interior than the car im driving now.

and if you got the money doesnt really matter, make a monster 3v that can out perform a termi

thats what i plan on doing in my future

Sounds like a nice ride! So the dealer did some upgrades? Do they warranty those too? Just curious.

Sounds great! Congrats. Careful with the mods though, make sure your dealer will cover the warranty work without jerking around before you throw parts at it!

New cars suck. They take forever to get out from under debt when you want something else. I learned my lesson on that one the hard way.

The dealer said as long as its Ford approved and smog legal, its covered under the warranty and they can do it, they did my exhaust work and intake, and then I got home and played with the tune for about 4 hours...... I have a whole new respect for tuners, that S**T is hard !, but damn talk about throttle response ! I LOVE IT, plus its nice in traffic my 1 hour commute dosnt leave my calves screaming anymore ! So chris were did you get your stall converter and at what level, i order'd 3:90s and I need to know were abouts i should be for my stall.....? And the car payment is worth the car !

stall converters are very tricky. I got mine from Spec-Rite outta Redding. But i don't even know if they make one for your tranny there, i have all 4R70W knowledge. I went with 3200 stall, but this choice for you should depend on where your peak torque is, so since your's is higher in rpm's than mine if you're staying N/A a higher stall might even be better for you.

Ya im staying N/A all the way..or until I get very very rich ( not happing) ya all the guys around with auto's ive talked to said stay with 3:90 and go with a 3400 stall -3600 cause the rpms are really differnt on my year. And since its an 08 im not even sure if they have the parts out there yet..?

should still be the same 5-speed tranny used. The TC shouldn't be different than the 05's auto. 3400-3600 is prolly good for where your car's peak tq is, and 3.90s are a good choice too - not too drastic in those s-197's at all.
